Utst\u00e4llningar, temaseminarier och fina ord om den h\u00e5rda v\u00e4gen fram till ett v\u00e4lm\u00e5ende samh\u00e4lle fyller kalendern. Fattigdom, utsatthet och utanf\u00f6rskap har pr\u00e4glat v\u00e5r historia. Vi v\u00e4nde detta genom den organiserade arbetarr\u00f6relsen, och i utvecklandet av det livsl\u00e5nga l\u00e4randet. Vi \u00e4r ett folk som uppskattar och respekterar bildning. Inst\u00e4llningen till l\u00e4rande \u00e4r positiv, inte bara i gallupar. \u00c5rligen deltar \u00f6ver var femte finl\u00e4ndare i n\u00e5gon form av vuxenutbildning. PISA-resultaten har placerat det finska skolsystemet p\u00e5 v\u00e4rldskartan. Folk kommer fr\u00e5n hela v\u00e4rlden f\u00f6r att bes\u00f6ka det finska undret. Under senare \u00e5r har placeringarna sjunkit, men \u00e4r fortfarande mycket h\u00f6gt. N\u00e4r OECD genomf\u00f6rde samma unders\u00f6kning av vuxnas grundl\u00e4ggande f\u00e4rdigheter i den s\u00e5 kallade PIAAC-unders\u00f6kningen lyckades Finland ocks\u00e5 mycket bra.<\/p>\n<p>Med s\u00e5 str\u00e5lande resultat, varf\u00f6r gr\u00e5ta?<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e4rf\u00f6r att det som s\u00e5 t\u00e5lmodigt byggts upp, av s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga m\u00e4nniskor, under s\u00e5 m\u00e5nga \u00e5r, nu vittrar s\u00f6nder.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r en fr\u00e5ga om perspektiv.<\/p>\n<p>Vi saknar visioner. Vi saknar en v\u00e4gkarta fram\u00e5t. Starka krafter p\u00e5verkar utbildningssystemet, mycket har redan f\u00f6r\u00e4ndrats.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r\u00e4ndring i sig \u00e4r inte av ondo. Allt m\u00e5ste utvecklas, f\u00f6r att beh\u00e5lla sin relevans. V\u00e4rlden f\u00f6r\u00e4ndras hela tiden.<\/p>\n<p>Det som oroar mig \u00e4r dels ett h\u00e5rdnande samh\u00e4llsklimat, d\u00e4r kunskap och l\u00e4rande bem\u00f6ts med f\u00f6rakt. Detta fr\u00e4ter p\u00e5 den k\u00e4nsliga (och osynliga) gemenskapsk\u00e4nslan. Samh\u00e4llskontraktet. Vi har krafter som i offentligheten ifr\u00e5gas\u00e4tter bildningens betydelse. Kunskap och l\u00e4rande var h\u00e4vst\u00e4nger som lyfte oss fr\u00e5n armod. Det \u00e4r ironiskt att det som slog h\u00e5l p\u00e5 glastaken nu ses som etablissemangets skyddsglas. Vet s\u00e5dana som s\u00e4ger sig tala f\u00f6r det vanliga folket egentligen vad de talar om?<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4n v\u00e4rre \u00e4r den \u00f6kande toppstyrningen, och synen p\u00e5 utbildning som ett verktyg med vars hj\u00e4lp alla skall f\u00e5s i jobb.<\/p>\n<p>Olika m\u00e4nniskor vill olika saker med v\u00e5rt utbildningssystem, och det finns sj\u00e4lvklart rum f\u00f6r b\u00e5de kritik och sj\u00e4lvkritik. Ett l\u00e4rande samh\u00e4lle blir aldrig f\u00e4rdigt. Diskussionen om vad vi vill och vart vi vill \u00e4r livsn\u00f6dv\u00e4ndig. Vi som arbetar f\u00f6r det livsl\u00e5nga l\u00e4randet har inga f\u00e4rdiga svar. Genom att fr\u00e5ga, ifr\u00e5gas\u00e4tta och lyssna skapar vi f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r l\u00e4rande. Detta \u00e4r lika viktigt f\u00f6r samh\u00e4llets v\u00e4lm\u00e5ende som grundforskning, eller h\u00f6gre utbildnings autonomi. N\u00e4r kunskapsf\u00f6raktet kombineras med kortsynt instrumentalisering av v\u00e5rt utbildningssystem \u00e4r vi ute p\u00e5 farligt vatten.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r politiker kr\u00e4ver snabba resultat, bevis f\u00f6r utbildningens effektivitet och kvantitativa m\u00e5ls\u00e4ttningar s\u00e5 f\u00f6rlorar vi n\u00e5gonting viktigt.<\/p>\n<p>Utbildning \u00e4r inte ett pl\u00e5ster, och inte en allm\u00e4n spottkopp. Det \u00e4r viktigare \u00e4n s\u00e5. Trots v\u00e5r h\u00f6ga levnadsstandard och stigande utbildningsniv\u00e5 faller m\u00e5nga mellan stolarna. De kanske misslyckades fullst\u00e4ndigt i grundskolan, s\u00e5 till den grad att l\u00e4sande och skrivande inte riktigt fungerar. Eller de klarade inte av att genomf\u00f6ra sina studier och har sedan dess haft det sv\u00e5rt p\u00e5 arbetsmarknaden. Andra valde yrken som nu f\u00f6rsvinner i snabb takt, p\u00e5 grund av automatisering, globalisering, eller en kombination. Alla dessa h\u00f6r till den nya underklassen. De som inte riktigt syns, eftersom det \u00e4r sk\u00e4mmigt att erk\u00e4nna att man inte kan.<\/p>\n<p>Ett samh\u00e4lles utvecklingsgrad m\u00e4ts i dess hanterande av de svaga och utsatta. H\u00e4r finns mycket att g\u00f6ra. Finland m\u00e5ste l\u00e4ra sig att s\u00f6ka upp de som beh\u00f6ver hj\u00e4lp, m\u00e5ste f\u00e5 ig\u00e5ng fungerande r\u00e5dgivnings- och karri\u00e4rvalstj\u00e4nster, m\u00e5ste f\u00e5 till st\u00e5nd en helt\u00e4ckande och genomt\u00e4nkt strategi f\u00f6r det livsl\u00e5nga l\u00e4randet. Vi har idag politiker som t\u00e4nker i kvartal, n\u00e4r de borde t\u00e4nka i decennier. De sj\u00f6s\u00e4tter flaggskeppsinitiativ men drar undan mattan f\u00f6r det l\u00e5ngsiktiga arbetet. De monterar ner utbildning, st\u00f6dfunktioner och enheter f\u00f6r vuxnas l\u00e4rande i ministeriet.
